Doris Allen Green

Doris A. Green, 84, Johnson City, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at the Johnson City Medical Center. She went straight from this world into the outstretched arms of Jesus. She was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and daughter of the late Albert Allen and Virginia Allen Roe. Mrs. Green was a charter member of New Harvest Baptist Church, where she served as treasurer for many years. Her humble spirit made her a wonderful spouse, precious mother, great sister, aunt, and a best friend to many. She was always willing to help anyone in need, whether it was taking someone to the doctor, doing their tax returns, or just listening. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Green was preceded in death by: her husband Charles Jacob Green, son Charles A. 'Butch'? Green, and brother Louis Allen. Survivors include: three daughters, Nancy Daugherty, and husband Ben, of Charlotte, NC, Tammy Grindstaff, and husband Johnny, of Johnson City, and Loretta Green, of Johnson City; four grandsons, Jesse, Clint, and Dilon Grindstaff, and Eric Mars, all of Johnson City; four granddaughters, Michelle Bailey of Cornelius, NC, Taylor, Kim, and Tiffany Green, all of Johnson City; two brothers, Bobby Allen of Spokane, WA and Lee Allen of Virginia; and three great grandchildren.
