Doris Ann Mcallister Graybeal

Mrs. Doris Ann McAllister Graybeal, age 71, of Johnson City, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2013 at home after an extended illness. Mrs. Graybeal was born in Damascus, Virginia to the late Andy Guy McAllister and Lucy Jane Worley McAllister. She was married to the late Hobert H. Graybeal for thirty-one years. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers Jack McAllister, Tom McAllister and Harry McAllister; three sisters, Ilene Howe, Hazel Nelson and Judy Alexander. Survivors include six children Sherri Buck and husband William of Johnson City, Scott Gross of Johnson City, Bob Gross and wife Sherry of Jonesborough, Tony Gross and wife Teresa of Johnson City, Barbara McDaniel and husband James of Johnson City, Paige Berthiaume of Telford; one step-son Jimmy Graybeal of Johnson City; three sisters, Louise McAllister of Gray, TN, Sharon Scott of Meadowview, VA and Nancy Gregory of Damascus, VA; three brothers, Cecil McAllister of Damascus, VA, Bill McAllister of Miami, FL and Don McAllister of Johnson City; twenty- one grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thank you to daughter-in-law and caregiver Teresa Gross and sister Nancy Gregory. Words cannot express our gratitude. The funeral service for Mrs. Doris Ann McAllister Graybeal will be conducted at 8 PM Tuesday, September 3, 2013, in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Pastor Kenneth Whaley will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 11 AM Wednesday in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 AM Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday prior to the service.
