Doris Faye Jones Johnson

Doris Faye Jones Johnson, 66, of Johnson City, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2020, at Dominion Senior Living in Bristol.

She was born in Greeneville, a daughter of the late Mark and Kate Jennings Jones.

Doris was a devout lifelong Christian of the Baptist faith.
She was always the first to care for others, putting them before herself even in her work as a nurse for over 30 years at the Johnson City Medical Center. Everyone who met her had a new friend.

When she wasn’t working to help others, Doris enjoyed spending her time gardening or reading her bible.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by: one daughter, Amy Lynette Johnson; and one niece, Misty Foulks.

Survivors include: one son, Chris Johnson and his wife, Kristi; granddaughters, Emma Johnson and Sara Bernard; and many more loving friends and family.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring staff of Dominion Senior Living and Smoky Mountain Home Health.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of Doris to St. Jude Children’s research Hospital.

The family of Doris Johnson will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Sherrel Nave of Oak Grove Baptist Church. A committal service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 26, 2020, at Gethsemane United Methodist Church Cemetery, 155 S Water Fork Rd, Greeneville, TN 37743. Family and friends are asked to gather at the graveside by 2:50 PM.
