Doris Dickerson Haynes

Doris Jean Dickerson Haynes, 78, went to be with the Lord while surrounded by her family, at the Johnson City Medical Center, on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.

Doris was born into the loving home of Fred Irvin Dickerson and Doris Mae Busby Dickerson in Kokomo, Indiana in 1946.

After graduating high school, Doris began her career as a secretary at a roofing company in Asheville, North Carolina. During this time, Doris would meet and marry the love of her life, Robert Haynes. She would work in retail but dedicated herself to the most important job of raising their daughters. 

She was a long-time member of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years.

Along with her parents, Doris is preceded in death by: her loving husband of 20 years, Robert C. Haynes.

Those remaining to cherish her memory include: three daughters, Dena Haynes Pyne (husband Doug Pyne), Kathryn Haynes, and Rebecca Haynes; two grandchildren, Rachel Pyne and Andrew Pyne; one sister, Patricia Dickerson; and one brother, Fred Dickerson.

A celebration of life service for Doris is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church in Gray, Tennessee.
