Doris 'Susie'? Hopson, 81, of Johnson City died Saturday, December 26, 2009 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Hopson was a native of Butler and had lived in Johnson City most of her adult life. She was a daughter of the late Charles and Merle Milsap Caldwell. Mrs. Hopson was a member of the Rich Acres FWB Church. She was retired from Hancock Fabrics in 2007. She was a wonderful seamstress and loved to surprise her friends with handmade gifts. Mrs. Hopson is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband Jack Hopson in 2001; one daughter Magretha White; and a sister Dot Caldwell. Survivors include: a daughter and son-in-law Pat and Eddie Barnett of Johnson City; a stepson Bill and his wife Peggy Hopson of Nashville; a son-in-law, Jim White of Jonesborough; four grandchildren, Tommy Peters of Johnson City, Becky Taylor of Jonesborough, Jennifer Johnson of Jonesborough, and April Radford of Elizabethton; six great grandchildren; one brother, Richard Caldwell of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Doris ' Susie'? Hopson will be conducted at 7 PM Monday, December 28, 2009 in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Rev. Aaron Morgan will officiate. Entombment will be at 11 AM Tuesday, Dec 29, 2009 in the Mausoleum Chapel at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 10:55 AM Tuesday. The family will receive friends at Morris-Baker from 6 to 7 PM Monday prior to the service.
