Evelyn Daniels Alison, passed away on June 19, 2010 at her daughters residence, 403 Matson Road, Jonesborough. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Clara Riggs Daniels and the granddaughter of the late William and Mary Elizabeth Daniels and the late Elbert and Minnie Bell Riggs, all of Turkeytown, TN. Evelyn was a lifelong resident of the Johnson City/Piney Flats areas. Mrs. Alison was blessed with sharing her life with Ray W. Huskins and Wendell J. Alison, both did precede her in passing. She was also preceded by a son, John Barton Alison. Also preceding her were siblings: Frances Torbett, Isabell Williams, and Sam Daniels, and great-nieces, Judith Captain and Polly Williams. She took a minute to meet, an hour to get to know and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. We are thankful to have been blessed with her friendship and love. During her tenure with us, she always had a smile and a story to share, and her time was never her own. She was an inspiration to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, as well as to others. Her areas of service include: the Girls Club Board, Brownie Scout Leader and Board, Red Cross volunteer and Food Pantry Volunteer and VA Center Volunteer. She was a lifelong member of Tacoma Church of God where she served as Sunday School teacher. She shared her beautiful soprano voice in the Lords service well into her 80s in the Tacoma Sanctuary choir, Crusaders Trio, Pathways Trio, and Womens Ensemble. Survivors include: two sons, Ray W. 'Woody'? Huskins, II (Vickie) of Watagua, TN, Wendell 'Jez' Alison (Shauna), Telford, TN; two daughters, Suzanne Crouch, Mauldin, SC and Lee Loudy (Larry), Jonesborough, TN. She is also survived by grandchildren: Rebekah Cannon (Sterling), Alison Simpson (Mike), John Crouch II (Lynn), Christopher Huskins, Heather Bailey (Roger), and Cody Alison. Surviving great '? grandchildren: Alex Crouch, Danielle, Dorothy (her namesake) and Caleb Simpson; Cemeron and Drew Henthorne: Griffin, Suzanne, Vivian, and Clara Cannon; Kayden; Clara, Noah, Charlton, Jackson, and Gabriel Clark, and great-great grandson, Brayden Topkins. Surviving siblings are Freddie Lee Henley (Rudy), Knoxville, TN, Jewell Lane, Johnson City, as well as sister-in-law, Shirley Daniels and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at 7:00 from the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Bill Konstantopoulos will officiate. Burial services will be conducted from the New Bethel Cemetery in Piney Flats at 11:00 am on Wednesday. The family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 10:15 am on Tuesday and proceed to the cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 7:00 pm on Tuesday.
