Mrs. Dorothy Maude Lee Torbett, age 87, of Piney Flats, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013, in the NHC HealthCare Center. Mrs. Torbett was a native of Abingdon, Virginia who had lived most of her life in Piney Flats. She was the daughter of the late Gammon Wilbert Lee and Maude Catherine Dunn Lee. In addition to her parents, her husband Ronald Lyle Torbett, Sr.; one brother, Everett Lee; one grandson, David Paulk also preceded her in death. Mrs. Torbett retired from the Johnson City Medical Center with sixteen years of service. She was a member of Edgefield United Methodist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Catherine Torbett Paulk; one son, Ronald Lyle Torbett, Jr. and his wife Lesa; one sister, Delia 'Mac'? McNary; one daughter-in-law, Janis Torbett; four grandchildren, Brooks Torbett, Matthew Torbett and Kristy Torbett Hinnard and Jason Greenlee; seven great grandchildren, Sarah Greenlee, Jada Greenlee, Cade Joe Greenlee, Ava Greenlee, Callie Greenlee, Bianca Hinnard and Haley Unrah; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Mrs. Dorothy Maude Lee Torbett will be conducted at 8 PM Friday, September 13, 2013 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Richard Rudesill will officiate and Pastor Mack Houston will be the honorary minister. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 10 AM Saturday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Ministers, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 9:30 AM Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday prior to the service.
