Dorothy Powell Cash Dorothy P. Cash, 96, of Johnson City, passed away Monday, March 20, 2015, at Life Care Center of Gray. Mrs. Cash was a Norfolk, VA native who lived most of her life in the Johnson City area. She was the daughter of the late Bernard H. and Ocie Lenore Hall Powell. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church. Mrs. Cash retired from employment with T.P.I. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cash was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Thad G. Cash, and brother, Jack Powell. Survivors include: two daughters, Eleanor Corby of Gray, Judy Ellis and her husband Monroe, of Johnson City; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Cash was laid to rest in Monte Vista Memorial Park following private family services officiated by her nephew, Evangelist Charles ?Toonie' Cash. For those who wish, memorials may be made to Niswonger Children?s Hospital, Mountain States Foundation, 2335 Knob Creek Road, Johnson City, TN 37604. Morris-Baker Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2001 E. Oakland Avenue, Johnson City, is serving the family of Dorothy P. Cash.
