Dorothy Rose Kawski

June 2, 1924 — April 25, 2008

Dorothy Bowman Kawski, 83, of Johnson City, passed away Friday, April 25, 2008 following a battle with cancer. She was a native of Butler, a daughter of the late Ben and Lula Greer Sheets. Dorothy was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers and five sisters. Survivors include: five brothers and three sisters-in-law, Charlie Sheets of Jonesborough, Frank Sheets of Carter County, Kenneth and Betty Sheets of Carter County, George and Mildred Sheets of Carter County, Glenn and Lucy Sheets also of Carter County; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Betty Cox of Johnson City, Brenda and Frank Pritchard of Gray, Mary and James Murray also of Gray; four adopted by love grandchildren, Brian, Teresa, Jerry and James; several nieces and nephews; many friends including Betty Dempsey and a special friend/nurse, Peggy McConnell. A funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, April 27, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. in the North Chapel of the Morris '' Baker Funeral Home, under the direction of Rev. Randy English. Special music will be provided by the Humphries Family. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until time of service at eight. A committal service will be conducted on Monday, April 28, 2008 at the Lyons Chapel Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
