Dorothy W. Bowers

Dorothy W. Bowers, 87, Johnson City, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015, at Christian Care Center of Johnson City. Mrs. Bowers was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and a daughter of the late J. B. and Ruby Lamons Wise. Mrs. Bowers was a long-time member of Central Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Bowers was a volunteer with the Johnson City Senior Center and an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Johnson City Cardinals. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, William 'Billy'? Bowers, brothers, Robert 'Bob'? Wise and Johnny Wise, and sister, Helen Austin. Survivors include: brother, Jim Wise of Johnson City; niece and caregiver, Amy King of Unicoi; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Edna and George Woodby for the care they provided at home and the nursing home, the nursing staff of Christian Care Center of Johnson City for their care, and a special thanks to a long-time friend, Joy Tittle.
