Dorrine Violet Bowman

Dorrine Violet Bowman, 76, of 902 Henry Street, Johnson City, died Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County and a homemaker. Dorrine was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Matt Bowman, three brothers, a sister and a daughter, Juanita. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include: four sons and three daughter-in-laws, Carl and Debra Bowman, Ricky Bowman and Debbie Hill, Jimmy and Carolyn Bowman, Hank and Tammy Bowman all of Johnson City; two sisters, Gladys Brown of Greenville and Juanita Keller of Johnson City; two brothers, Bud Story and Jack Story both of Greenville; eight grandchildren, Carl Bowman, Jr., Eric Bowman, Christal Thompson, Ricky Bowman, Jr., James Julian, Jessica Bowman, Hank Bowman, Jr. and Joshua King; four great grandchildren, Amanda Whitaker, Carina Bowman, Donta Bowman and Sarah Grace Thompson; one great great grandson, Jacob Whitaker and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, August 25, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. in the South Chapel of the Morris - Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Rev. D. C. Byrd. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until time of service at eight. Other times at the home of the son Carl Bowman, 5 Glaicer Road, Johnson City. There will be a committal service conducted on Saturday, August 26, 2006 in the Roselawn Memorial Park at 10:00 a.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Eric Bowman, Carl Bowman, Jr., Ray Thompson, Bobby Tester, Ricky Bowman, Jr., James Julian and Kevin Whitaker.
