Earlene Laws Leonard, 89, 105 Steeple Circle, Johnson City, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was an Avery County, North Carolina native who lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was a daughter of the late Aaron and Sarah Minerva Katherine Oaks Laws. Mrs. Leonard was a homemaker. She was a member of Buffalo Valley Christian Church, where she was a member of the Andrew Whisenhunt Circle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, her husband, Sylvestus Leonard, and sev Survivors include: son, Ronald Leonard, and his wife Rose, Johnson City; daughter, Susan Chambers, and her husband Kenneth 'Buddy'?, Elizabethton; three grandsons, Tony Leonard, Jonesborough, Shane Leonard, Johnson City, and Jeff Chambers, and his wife Crystal, Jonesborough; one granddaughter, Michelle Chambers, Johnson City; one great-grandson, Ryan Leonard, Johnson City; sister-in-law, Marie Lenden, Elizabethton; and several nieces and nephews. eral brothers and sisters. The family of Earlene Laws Leonard will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday, July 2, 2011, in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 8:00 PM with Mr. Bob Allen, Minister, officiating. Pallbearers will be: Michelle Chambers, Jeff Chambers, Shane Leonard, Ryan Leonard, Ken Brackett, Phil Laws, and Martin Laws. Honorary pallbearers will be: Tony Leonard, Louie Hopkins, Skip Seeley, Worley Bennett, and the men of the church. Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery for those services.
