Ed Helmick

Mr. Ed Helmick, age 72, of Jonesborough, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013, in the Lakebridge Healthcare Center. Mr. Helmick was a native of Mingo, West Virginia. He was the son of the late Hobert Helmick and Emmaline Piercy Helmick. In addition to his parents his wife Judy Helmick; one son, Christopher Helmick also preceded him in death. Mr. Helmick was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Survivors include one son, Gene Helmick; one daughter, Jennifer Morrison; two step-sons, Marty Cole and Michael DeJaynes; one step-daughter, Gina DeJaynes; one sister, Hattie Lavinnia; six grandchildren, Lauren Helmick, Taylor Helmick, Bailley Helmick, Carden Lamb, Noah Roman and Olivia Morrison; one great grandchild, Ryley Helmick. The family would like to express a special thank you to the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center for the care that was given to Mr. Helmick especially Dr. M. Rogers. The graveside service for Mr. Ed Helmick will be conducted at 2:30 PM Wednesday, June 26, 2013 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Rev Hobart Bradshaw will officiate. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The Boone Dam Post # 4933 and the Tennessee National Guard will accord military honors. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 2 PM Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Morris-Baker.
