Edith Walker Trivett

Edith Walker Trivett, 78, Johnson City, died Friday, February 20, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Trivett was a native of McClure, VA but had lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was a daughter of the late Edgar Stephen and Pearl Mae Hurt Oakes. Her first husband, Robert C. 'Red'? Walker in 1989 and two brothers, Raymond Oaks and Ray Oaks, preceded Mrs. Trivett in death. She was a member of Day of Deliverance Revival Center. Survivors include her husband, Miles G. Trivett; one son, Robert Clinton Walker, Jr. and his wife, Karen Ayers Walker, Johnson City; one daughter, Sharon Walker, Johnson City; stepson, Paul M. Trivett and his wife, Pam Trivett, Hickory, NC; step-daughter, Ingra Hart, Hickory, NC; two granddaughters, Anna Reed and Tonya Hyatt and her husband Michael both of Johnson City; three step grandsons, Eric Trivett, Justin Hart, and Joshua Hart all of Hickory, NC; two great granddaughters, Taylor Hyatt and Maddison Hill; a great grandson, Cameron Hyatt both of Johnson City; two step great grandsons, Jordan Trivett, Hickory, NC and Dylan Hyatt, Johnson City; two sisters, Esther Trivett and Alice Collins both of Johnson City; two brothers, James Oaks and his wife, Linda and Charles Oaks all of Johnson City and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Edith Walker Trivett will be conducted at 2 PM Monday February 23, 2009 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Reverend Dewey Ward will officiate. The committal service will follow in the Maplelawn Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 PM Sunday.
