Edna Louise Nelson

Edna Louise Nelson, 88, Granite Falls, NC, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014 at her home. Edna was a Bristol, VA native and a daughter of the late Henry Little and Zada Johnson Trivett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, John Louis Nelson, Sr.; daughter, Cathy Jane Ottinger; son, Billy Jack Nelson; and several brothers and sisters. Edna worked as a cashier at Hurts Discount Grocery in Bluff City for over 20 years. Survivors include: three sons, John Henry Nelson and his wife, Carolyn, of Bluff City, Robert L. Nelson, Sr. and his wife, Cindy, of Bluff City, and John Louis Nelson, Jr. and his wife, Cheryl, of Watauga; two daughters, Patsy JoAnn Cunningham and her husband, Don, of Indianapolis, IN, and Wanda Louise Miller and her husband, Larry, of Granite Falls, NC; one brother, Henry Little 'H. L.'? Trivett, Jr., of Bristol, VA; 24 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; and 15 great great grandchildren. The family of Edna Louise Nelson will receive friends from 6 pm until 8 pm Wednesday, August 13, 2014 in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 8 pm Wednesday in the North Chapel. Rev. Larry Miller, Jr. will officiate. The committal service is scheduled for 10 am Thursday, August 14, 2014 in Glenwood Cemetery, Bristol, TN. Minister, family, and friends are requested to meet at Morris-Baker by 9 am Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery, or to meet at the cemetery by 9:50 am for services. Pallbearers will be sons and grandsons.
