Edna Mae Freeman, 81, of 306 Dyer Street, Johnson City, died Thursday, March 8, 2007 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of Atkins, Virginia, daughter of the late Urial and Stella Edna Clark Clyburn. Edna was a homemaker and member of the Prayer Tabernacle for 28 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Freeman in 2005, also a brother Fred Clyburn and a great grandson, Charles Presnell. Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Donald Greer and Elaine and Mike Babb all of Carter County; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Kay Freeman of Carter County and Clifford and Brenda Freeman of Jonesborough; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeanette and Jim Jones of Atkins, VA and Annette and Blaine Thomas of Marion, VA; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill And Leoda Clyburn of Atkins, VA, Carroll and Gail Clyburn of Abingdon, VA and Robert and Edith Clyburn of Atikins, VA; nine grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their love and very deep appreciation to 3 wonderful, loving and caring people that have been 'Moma?s guardian angels'. They have always been there when needed to watch over Moma. Words cannot express what this has meant. Thank you so very much to: Gladys Weaver, Steve and Kenneth Holden. A funeral is scheduled for Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. in the South Chapel of the Morris - Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Rev. Greg Wagner and Rev. Terry Freeman. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until time of service at eight. A committal service will be conducted on Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home by 12:30 p.m. to leave in procession. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
