Mrs. Edna Tester, age 72, of 113 Pleasant Beach Road, Elizabethton, passed away Friday, June 3, 2011 in the Appalachian Christian Village. Mrs. Tester was a native of Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late William Ed Simpson and Hazel Baird Simpson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Tester; one son, Douglas Tester; one infant daughter, Sandy Tester; three sisters, Claudia, Sarah and Arzella. Survivors include: one daughter, Elondia Farrell and her husband Charlie of Elizabethton; three sons, Carl Tester and his wife Wanda of Elizabethton, Gregory Tester and his wife Deloris of Elizabethton and Randy Tester and his wife Lorie of Elizabethton; three brothers, Glenn Simpson and his wife Barbara of Watauga, Ronald Simpson of Johnson City and Larry Simpson and his wife Joyce of Watauga; two sisters, Norma Cox and her husband Perry of Piney Flats and Mae Painter of Telford; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren. The funeral service for Mrs. Edna Tester will be conducted at 8 PM Sunday, June 5, 2011 in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Rev. Bobby Stout will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Sunday prior to the service.
