Edward Leonard Rakowski

Edward Leonard Rakowski, 65, of Gray, died Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at his residence. He was a native of Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Leonard Norman and Inez Shirley Woodard Rakowski. Edward was a retired employee of the Ford Motor Company and a member of the UAW Local 600. Edward was a graduate of Fordson High School in Dearborn, MI. He attended college for two years and also two years of culinary school. He was of Catholic faith. In addition to his parents, a brother preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of fourteen years, Bea Bennett Rakowski of the home; stepdaughter, Susan Harrison of Gray; two stepsons, Ricky Adkins of Pineville, KY and Mike Centers of Gray; a son, Aaron Rakowski of Michigan; brothers, Mark Rakowski and wife Julie of Michigan and Paul Rakowski of Michigan; three sisters, Nancy Bond, Carol Hooks and Sandy Buck all of Michigan; his special pets, Trixie and Snowflake; special niece, Kim Centers Alley of Chuckey; special brother-in-law, Howard Centers of Gray; special friends, Jim & Christine Smith, Betty Isenberg, Andy and Donna Light. A graveside service is scheduled for Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 1:00 pm in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. The Boone Dam VFW and Tennessee National Guard will provide military honors and VA chaplain will preside. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 12:45 for services.
