Elizabeth Ann Hampton Byrd, 79, of Kingsport, TN, passed away, May 21, 2016 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Ada Hampton. She was the beloved wife of the late Jack Byrd. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Jim and Bill Hampton. She is survived by: her brother, Jack Hampton of Suphur Springs; two sons, Gary Byrd and wife Greta of Asheville and Lynn Byrd and wife Paulette of Kingsport; grandchildren, Alice Byrd of Asheville, Kristy Loflin and husband Tom of Kingsport, Kelly Byrd Daniel of Knoxville, and Chad Eads and wife Emily; great grandchildren, Jessica Loflin, Haven Daniel, Marley Daniel, Cason Byrd, Carson Eads, and Carly Eads; great great granddaughter, Rylan Byrd; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Elizabeth ?Sis' was well known for her wonderful cooking and especially for the candy and other goodies that she made during the Christmas holidays. Elizabeth was known for having a wonderful sense of humor, speaking her mind, and caring for others. She worked well into her 70s caring for others as an employee of Comfort Keepers. She enjoyed reading and was a big fan of the Atlanta Braves. A graveside inurnment service will be held at 10:00 am Monday, August 15th, 2016 at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Johnson City, TN. Pastor Bo Deaton will officiate. Please meet at the cemetery for the service.
