Elizabeth Ann Fox Leach

Mrs. Elizabeth Ann 'Betty' Fox Leach, 89, of Johnson City, passed away Monday, February 9, 2015, at her residence. Betty was born and raised in Asbury Community Washington County, the daughter of Jerome David and Myrtle Ruth Henley Fox. She graduated from Washington College Academy where she was voted 'Queen of Washington College'. Betty later moved to Johnson City upon marriage to John Harold Leach, owner operator of Leach Motor Company. In addition to her parents, Betty?s husband Harold preceded her in death in 2007. Fueled by a love for children and a gift of organization, Betty was a teacher, then Director of First Presbyterian Preschool in Johnson City, TN for 26 years. She received extensive training in early childhood education at East Tennessee State University. Betty is survived by: two sons, John Leach and his wife Phyllis of Raleigh, NC and Dr. Brent Leach of Johnson City; one daughter, Jana Williams and her husband Jim of Johnson City; nine grandchildren, Kimberly Monroe and her husband Ken of Raleigh, NC, Eric Leach and his wife Kate of Chapel Hill, NC, Bradley Leach and his wife Suzy of Greensboro, NC, Jay Williams and his wife Raegan of Atlanta, GA, Justin Williams of Gray, TN, Elizabeth Williams of Nashville, TN, Andrew Leach and Chelsea Whitlock, Jonathan Leach and his wife Jessie, and Holden Leach of Johnson City; ten great-grandchildren, Coleman and Meredith Monroe, Luciana, Alexandra, Lilliana, and Lila Leach, Esme and William Leach, Kage Leach, and Vera Williams; one brother, Jimmy Fox and his wife Albania; two nephews, Douglas Fox and his wife Anita and Gregory Leach and his wife Linda; and four nieces, Lesa Mathes and her husband Erwin, Mira Lamendola and her husband Ed, Gayle Heaton and her husband Sherrill, and Joanna Lee and her husband Jim. The family of Mrs. Elizabeth Ann ?Betty' Fox Leach will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM Saturday, February 14, 2015, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow with Rev. Michael Lester officiating. The graveside committal service will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Bettys seven grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
