Elizabeth C. Vaughn

May 4, 1933 — August 29, 2015

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. The Lord cares deeply when His loved ones die. When they arrive at the gates of death, God welcomes those who love Him. (Psalm 116:15 KJV, NLT, MSG)? Because of JESUS? Great Gift, our loving Father GOD welcomed with open arms His precious daughter, Elizabeth Cleo Vaughn, 82, to her real Home in Heaven on Saturday, August 29th, 2015 at 6:15 AM. Elizabeth was born on May 4th, 1933 to Martin and Lula Willens, the ninth of eleven children, and lived her entire earthly life in the Johnson City, TN area. Elizabeth worked for many years at Pharmaseal, but is most remembered for her faithful service as a CNA caring for individuals, and working nights at The Appalachian Christian Village, where she and her therapy cat, Molly, brought smiles to many! Still on this side of Heaven are Elizabeths brother Frank and Trudy Watkins; her well-loved children: son Phil and June Sheppard, daughter Robin and Richard Shepherd, daughter Sherry Vaughn, son Doug and Karol Vaughn; grandson Anthony and Marsha Sheppard, more grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, at least one great-great grandson, numerous nieces and nephews, and dearest friends, most in the Tri-Cities, TN area. Being there always for her beloved family and friends was Elizabeth?s favorite pastime. The family would like to extend extra special thanks to the wonderful staff and community at Lakebridge Health Care Center and Caris for loving and caring for Elizabeth like family! The family of Elizabeth Vaughn will receive friends from 11 am until 12 pm Wednesday, September 2, 2015 in the Morris-Baker Dogwood Chapel. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 12 pm Wednesday in the chapel. Family and friends will then proceed to Washington County Memory Gardens for a 1:15 pm graveside service. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Her children rise up and call her blessed?! (Proverbs 31:28)
