Elizabeth L. Betty Berry

Elizabeth J. 'Betty ' Berry, 71, of 1437 Piedmont Road, Johnson City went home to the Lord on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at the Johnson City Medical Center following a lingering illness. Mrs. Berry was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and a daughter of the late Scott J. and Pearl Winters Lawson. She is also preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth D. Lawson. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Berry dedicated her life to her children and family. She thought of others before she thought of herself. Her sense of humor never faltered even in her time of sickness. Mrs. Berry is survived by her loving family who include: three sons, Kyle and wife Teresa Berry, and Darryl Berry all of Johnson City, Mike and wife Sharon Berry of Surgoinsville; two daughters, Sharon and husband Jimmy Garland and Kimberly Simms, all of Johnson City; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one sister, Earlene and husband Rick Kind; three brothers, Charles Lawson, John and wife Gail Lawson, all of Johnson City, Bobby and wife Donna Berry of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Elizabeth J. 'Betty'? Berry will be conducted at 2 PM Tuesday, February 5, 2008 in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Rev. Kenneth Kyker will officiate. Music will be by Mr. Brad Rouse, organist. Scott Lawson will act as Honorary pallbearer. A private interment of the cremains will be held at a later date and time. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 1 to 2 PM Tuesday prior to the service.
