Elizabeth L. Bowman, 96, 2420 Stone Drive, died Saturday, November 17, 2007 at Asbury Place. Mrs. Bowman was a Sullivan County native and had lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was a daughter of the late James H. and Emma Hawkins Minnick. Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Clifton Bowman, one brother, Howard Minnick and one sister Margaret A. Harr. She was a member and Sunday School teacher of Cash Hollow Presbyterian Church for many years. Survivors include four nephews, Bobby Bowman, Kenny Bowman, Price E. Harr, CA and Eddie Minnick, Blountville; five nieces, Carol Taylor, Rosedale, VA, Jo Anne Johnson, Durham, NC, Brenda Sessions, Stone Mountain, GA, Lena Vance, Stockbridge, GA and Becky Vest and three sisters-in-law, Edith Bowman, Johnson City, Jewell Minnick, VA and Charlotte Johnson, Clarkston, GA. A funeral service for Mrs. Bowman will be conducted at 8 PM Tuesday, November 20, 2007 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Mr. Darryl Cretsinger and Mr. Scott Neal will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 9:30 AM and travel in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
