Ella Mae Curtis

Ella Mae Curtis, 66, 810 Briarcliff Road, Johnson City, died Friday, November 2, 2007 at her residence. She was a native of Johnson County, Tennessee and had lived most of her life in Johnson City. Mrs. Curtis was a daughter of the late William and Gertrude Ethel Fletcher Younce. Mrs. Curtis was a retired seamstress and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Robert T. Curtis, Sr. in August 2004; and one brother, J.D. Younce. Survivors include: one son Robert Curtis Jr. of Johnson City; two daughters, Reba Collins and Christy Curtis, both of Johnson City; four grandchildren, Cara Widner, Sara Brittany Curtis, Christopher D. Curtis, and K.J. Arrowood; five brothers, Carroll Younce of North Carolina, Billy Younce, Kenneth Younce, Charles Younce and Bobby Younce, all of N. Wilkesboro, NC; six sisters, her twin sister Wilma Mae Gay of Michigan, Dorothy Mason of N. Wilkesboro, NC, Thelma Malone of Statesville, NC, Sue Smitty of N. Wilkesboro, Barbara Younce of N. Wilkesboro, and Joyce Dean Barr of Hickory, NC; several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Ella Mae Curtis will be conducted at 7 PM Monday, November 5, 2007 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. James Chatman will officiate. The committal service will be conducted at 10 AM Tuesday, November 6, 2007 in the Boones Creek Christian Church Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends at Morris-Baker from 6-7 PM Monday.
