Mrs. Ella Mae Holden, 84, Johnson City, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Franklin Woods Hospital following a lengthy battle of cancer. Ella was a life long resident of Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late David and Pearl Pierson. She enjoyed her family and cooking Sunday dinners for them. Her favorite past times were collecting shells at the beach, crocheting, working puzzles, collecting light houses and watching butterflies. She was a fun loving and giving person who will be greatly missed. Survivors include: her husband of 68 years, Billy Joe Holden, Sr.; two sons and two daughters, Ginger Hopkins, Billy Joe Holden, Jr. and his wife Karen, Debra Holden and James Holden; one sister, Georgia Richardson; one brother, Worley Pierson; four grandchildren, Nesha Vest and her husband Kevin, Rachel Cloberdants and her husband Wes, Jason Holden and Misty Lerner; four great-grandchildren, Morgan Vest, James Cloberdants, Ashely Cloberdants, and Stephen Vest; and several nieces and nephews. A committal service will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to meet in the mausoleum chapel at 9:50 AM.
