Ella Maye Reed, 90, 111 Hills Avenue, Johnson City, was called home by her Lord Wednesday, January 18, 2006. Mrs. Reed was a native of Piney Flats and had lived in Washington County most of her life. She was a daughter of the late John and Elsie Rupe Goodman. She was a homemaker and a member of the Skyline Heights Baptist Church where she served for many years in the children?s department. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Reed is preceded in death by her Husband, Joe in 1976 ; a son, Joe, Jr.; two sisters , Nora Faye Hudson and Mary Friday; and a brother, John 'J.D.' Goodman; and a granddaughter. She is survived by: four daughters and sons-in-law, Anne and Tommy Causey, Pat and Danny Gerard, Betty and Dewey Taylor, all of Johnson City, Mary Jo and John Hammett of Jonesborough; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Ruby Bowser of Johnson City, Madge and her husband Thad Hall of Gray; one brother, I.B. Goodman of Piney Flats; eleven grandchildren , fifteen great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren ,several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Ella Maye Reed will be conducted at 8 PM Friday, January 20, 2006 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Dr. Kenneth Gaskin will officiate. The graveside service will be conducted at 2 PM Saturday in the Roselawn Memorial Park. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 1:15 PM Saturday to go in procession. Active pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 PM Friday prior to the service.
