Elmer L. Neal, Johnson City, passed away Monday, May 2, 2016, at NHC Healthcare. He was a native of Johnson City and most recently resided in Jonesborough. He began his career at an early age by delivering milk for Foremost Dairies throughout the Johnson City region. Elmer later established ABC Mobile Home Repair as his own successful business. In his early years, he enjoyed participating in car and boat racing at local venues. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Army and later actively participated as a leader in the Tennessee Defense Force. In addition to his parents, John Herbert and Mamie Carter Neal, he is preceded in death by: his wife, Anna Whitson Neal; and two brothers, Robert and Ralph Neal. Survivors include: one son, Chris Neal and his wife Nina, of Spring, TX; three daughters, Vickie Neal-Guevara, of Jonesborough, Sandra Trivett and her husband Tyler, of Johnson City, and Deborah Neal, of Oak Hills, CA; two brothers, Argil Neal and his wife Madelyn, of Johnson City, and Tommy Neal and his wife Nancy, of Johnson City; two sisters, Helen Oliver and her husband Bud, of Johnson City, and Carolyn Presnell and her husband Dave, of Johnson City. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. The family of Elmer Neal will receive friends Friday, May 6, 2016 from 5 PM until 7 PM at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Roselawn Memory Gardens. Boone Dam VFW Post #4933 will be providing military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, 225 Princeton Rd., Johnson City. (423) 282-6722
