Eloise Cumbee Hartman, 83, of Johnson City, died Sunday, August 10, 2014 at her residence. She was a native of Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late William D. and Ella R. Morris Cumbee. Eloise was a retired employee of Appalachian Christian Village. She was a longtime member of the Tacoma Church of God. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James A. Hartman, Jr. in 1981. Survivors include: two sons, James A. Hartman, III of California and Michael D. Hartman of Florida; two grandchildren, Ryan M. Hartman and Hayley A. Hartman; a sister, Betty Weaver of Goose Creek, South Carolina; several cousins. A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Monte Vista Memorial Park, under the direction of Dr. Darrell Sovine. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery at 1:45 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: the Wounded Warriors Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
