Elvie ?L.V.' Alexander Harmon, 93, of Piney Flats, died Sunday, September 13, 2015 in the Appalachian Christian Village. He was reunited with his wife of 69 years, Violet Elzira Harmon, who passed away on September 7th. L.V. was born in Greene County, but had lived in Piney Flats for most of his life. He was a son of the late William and Vina Melton Harmon. L.V. was a US Army veteran, having served in Germany during World War II. He retired from Tennessee Eastman. L.V. was a charter member of Piney Flats Baptist Church and was a former Sunday School and Training Union Director. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Velma Beach, and brothers, Earnest, Phillip, Lewis, and Roy Harmon. Survivors include one brother, Samuel Frank Harmon, of Flagstaff, AZ; and several nieces and nephews. A visitation is scheduled for 6 pm to 7 pm Thursday, September 17, 2015 in the Morris-Baker Oak Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 7 pm Thursday in the chapel under the direction of Dr. Allen Davis. A committal service is scheduled for 11 am Friday, September 18, 2015 in the Morning View Cemetery. Family and friends are requested to meet at Morris-Baker by 10:15 am Friday to go in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. A special thank you is extended to the management and staff of Appalachian Christian Village for their care and kindness.
