Emily Catherine Baker Hawksby, 50, of Johnson City, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, surrounded by family.
She was born in Montour Falls, New York, on October 31st, 1971, to the late Frank and Cheryl Baker.
Emily was a person of many talents, which she loved to share with others. She enjoyed working with her hands to forge artful crafts and was an incredible seamstress. She was a true master in the kitchen, cooking, baking, and canning with unique skill. For her, homemaking was an art form, and she truly made her friends and family feel special with the one-of-a-kind gifts she would make for them.
Emily Baker married Andrew Hawksby on May 25th, 1996, and they have since brought up five wonderful girls. She was the glue that held her family together.
Emily always opened her home to others and welcomed them with open arms, knowing exactly what to do to make a person feel special and important. She loved the lord and raised her girls to do the same, sharing that light with everyone she could reach.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her father-in-law, Richard Hawksby.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 26 years, Andrew; five daughters, Cassandra, Lauren, Sienna, Natalie, and Susan; two brothers, Allen and his wife Sandra, Jeremy and his wife Andrea; sister, Amy; and many nieces and nephews.
No public services are scheduled at this time.
