Emily Leigh Saunders Propes

Emily Leigh Saunders Propes, 82, 806 Morningside Drive, Johnson City, died Thursday, January 18, 2007 at her residence. Ms. Propes was a native of Perquimans City, NC and had lived in Johnson City for one year. She was the daughter of the late Octavious Saunders and Isabelle Twine Saunders. She was also preceded in death by one son, James C. Propes; four sisters, Bertie Ward, Wessie Bass, Hilda Thompson and Eunice Boyce; one brother, Jarvis Saunders. She was a retired Sales Manager. Ms. Propes was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include: one son, Bob M. Propes and his wife Bonnie, of Johnson City; two sisters, Virginia Harrell and Dorothy Layden both of Va.; several nieces and nephews also survive; a special friend, Kim Agnew, of Virgina Beach, Va. The funeral service for Emily Leigh Saunders Propes will be conducted 2 PM Sunday, January 21, 2007 at the Coloniel Grove Memorial Park , Virginia Beach, Va. in the Liberty Chapel. Everyone will meet at the cemetery for this service.
