Emma Irene Trobaugh

Mrs. Irene Riffey Trobaugh was born September 20, 1913, and passed away at the age of 94 on November 23, 2007 at Johnson City Medical Center. Formerly of 4124 Ranch Road Johnson City, TN 37601, Mrs. Trobaugh lived in Asbury Center. Mrs. Trobaugh was a Washington County native where she lived most of her life. She was a daughter of the late Landon Martin and Ora Hall Riffey and was the widow of the late Reverend R. A. Trobaugh Sr. She was a graduate of Boones Creek High School. She was formerly employed with S. H. Kress for 17 years leaving as a supervisor. She also worked as a sales person for Kings Inc. for several years Mrs. Trobaugh was a charter member of Boones Creek United Methodist Church where she had served as Church Secretary, Sunday School teacher, trustee, member of the United Methodist Women, and church choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. R. A. Trobaugh Sr., two brothers Lee and Garnet Riffey, and her four sisters, Ruth Thompson Smithson, Maye Fleenor, Nell Roller, and Hazel Tate, and her stepson, Robert Trobaugh Jr. Survivors include one sister, Helen Robbins, three step-grand children, several nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews Services will be held November 26, 2007 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Homer Roller and Rev. Ken Lytton. Pall bearers will include John Glaze, Robert Davidson, H. J. Bradley, Gary Owens, Mike Baugess, Richard Dean, Harry Hitchew, and Dale Robbins. Honorary pall bearers to be Oran Weeks, Bob Yates, Blain Gilliam, and Norman Roberts.
