Emogene Phipps Pierce, 85, of Telford, passed away Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a Johnson City native and the daughter of the late Garrett Clayton and Anna Fred Phipps. Mrs. Pierce was a retired employee of Texas Instruments. She was a member of Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nick Howard Pierce, and brother, Howard Russell Phipps. Survivors include: son, Larry James 'Jim'? Pierce, Gray; two daughters, Barbara Murr, and her husband Mike, Jonesborough, and Charlotte Ann 'Bo'? Cutlip, Pulaski, TN; six grandchildren, Mike Jr., Kenny, Nick, Richie, Jimmy, and Christy; and nine great grandchildren. Mrs. Pierce also leaves behind her devoted friends Jane Harvey Howell and Linda Pierce. The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. James Hansen and the Johnson City Internal Medicine Associates for their care for Mrs. Pierce. Funeral services for Emogene Pierce will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Paul Crowe will officiate. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Following the funeral service, family and friends will proceed to Monte Vista Memorial Park for committal services. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the funeral service in the Morris-Baker South Chapel.
