Erby D. Brown

Mr. Erby D. Brown, age 74, of Johnson City, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2013, in the Appalachian Christian Village. Mr. Brown was a native of Castleberry, Alabama. He was the son of the late Alvah Brown and Ira Jo Salter Brown. In addition to his parents, his sister Joyce Odom also preceded him in death. Mr. Brown was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Lebanese Crisis. He retired from Mor-Flo Industries with over twenty years of service. He attended Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church. Mr. Brown was a Third Degree Mason. Survivors include his loving wife of thirty-three years, Martha P. Brown; one daughter, Tammy Brown Ruston and her husband Greg; one son, Erby Brown, Jr. and his wife Judy; one step-son, Allan Reaves and his wife Suzanne; one brother, Cleveland Brown; five grandchildren, Rachel Asher and her husband Adam, Sarah Ruston, Noah Reaves, Tatum Reaves and Cooper Reaves; three great grandchildren, Kameron Martin, Kylar Cham and Adelynn Asher; two sisters-in-law, Anne Patton, and Mary Shutko and her husband Fred; one brother-in-law, Charles Patton and his wife Tina. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 6 PM Monday, August 19, 2013, in the Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church Chapel. Rev. Michael Lester will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 PM Monday in the chapel prior to the service at 6 PM. The family will hold a private entombment service at Monte Vista Memorial Park at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church Pastors Discretionary Fund, 201 E. Market Street, Johnson City, TN 37601, Washington County/Johnson City Animal Shelter, 525 Sells Avenue, Johnson City, TN 37604 or Caris Hospice Healthcare, 110 W. Springbrook Drive Suite A, Johnson City, TN 37604.
