Ernest G. Barnette

Ernest G. Barnette, 96, of 4952 Bluff City Highway, Bluff City, went to be with the Lord ,Saturday, February 25, 2006 at the Cambridge House. Mr. Barnette was a native of Carter County and had lived most of his life in Sullivan County. He was a son of the late Zeak and Nancey Melton Barnette. Mr. Barnette was a retired machinist with Univac. Survivors include: a son and daughter-in-law, Anthony 'Tony' and wife Johnnie Barnette of Bluff City, TN ; a daughter and son-in-law Teresa and husband William Sammon of Fountain Valley, CA; one sister, Estalina Keene of Johnson City; four grandchildren, Paul Sammon and Mary Rabago, of CA, Richard Barnette and Anthony Barnette, both of Bristol, TN; seven great grandchildren, Grayson Barnette, Alexandria Barnette, Samuel Barnette, Noah Barnette on Bristol; Darcy Rabago, Penalope Gonzales, and Joseph Sammon, of CA; several nieces and nephews including a special neice, Nancy Calloway also survive. The funeral services for Ernest G. Barnette will be conducted on Monday, February 27, 2006 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. A Rosary Service will begin at 1 PM followed by a Catholic Funeral Mass with Father Gerald Finucane officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 2:15 to 3 PM. A Protestant Funeral Service will be conducted at 3:15 PM with Rev. Charles M. Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at Maplelawn Cemetery in Jonesborough with Rev. Timothy E. Keeney, and Rev. Charles M. Murphy, officiating.
