Ethel Church Harris

February 13, 1927 — August 8, 2019

Ethel Church Harris, 92, Erwin, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2019, at her residence.
Ethel was born in Butler, TN to the late W.E. and Minnie McQueen Slemp.
Ethel worked for 36 years as the head of housekeeping at Johnson City Medical Center.
She was a member of First Christian Church in Johnson City.
In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by: one brother, Glenn Slemp; and two sisters, Fern Honeycutt and Blanche Dugger.
Survivors include: her husband of 20 years, Wayne Harris; one son, Ron Harris and his wife Sandy; one sister-in-law, Mozell Maloney; three nieces, Carol Scranton, Martha Courtner and Betty Renfro; three nephews, Edwin Dugger, Greg Slemp and Keith Slemp; and several great nieces and nephews.
Special thank you to all the staff at Caris Healthcare, you all are very honorable people.
The family of Ethel Church Harris will receive friends from 1 PM until 2 PM Monday, August 12, 2019, at Morris-Baker. The funeral will follow at 2 PM with Dr. Nikki Hunt officiating. Family and friends will go in procession to Monte Vista Memorial Park for a 2:45 PM graveside service.
