Eva Jean Feathers, 83, of 1203 Fredericksburg Drive, Johnson City died Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the Christian Care Center of Johnson City. Mrs. Feathers was a native of Kingston, TN, who spent her youth and retirement years in Johnson City and had also resided in Philadelphia, PA, Westfield, MA, and El Paso, TX. She was a daughter of the late Frank and Flora Rhear Corzine. Mrs. Feathers was a 1943 graduate of Science Hill High School. She was a homemaker and member of the Central Baptist Church, serving in the Esther Sunday Sunday School Class and the J.O.Y. Fellowship. Mrs. Feathers enjoyed sports and many activities including cooking, entertaining guests in her home, flower arranging and sewing. As they moved around the country, her warm personality and bright smile drew many friends to her whom she cherished and corresponded with throughout the years. Mrs. Feather is preceded in death by: her parents; a brother, Earl G. Corzine; and two sisters, Bernice Baldwin and Dorothy Grimes. Survivors include: her husband of sixty-three years, Lynn A. Feathers of the home; three sons, Eric Feathers of Arlington, TX, Scott and wife Cindy Feathers of Fairburn, GA. Craig Feathers and wife Amy Kolan of Northfield, MN; two daughters, Janelle and husband Doug Clark of Stone Mountain, GA and Valerie and husband Ken Beam of Garland, TX; four grandchildren, Kim and husband Robert Brusch, Brock Feathers, Aleta Kolan and Tessa Kolan; several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Eva Jean Feathers will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 23, 2008 in the sanctuary of Central Baptist Church. Dr. Ron Murray and Rev. Bill Warfield will officiate. Interment will follow in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Eric Feathers, Scott Feathers, Craig Feathers, Brock Feathers, Doug Clark and Ronnie Corzine. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Webster and members of the Esther Sunday School Class of Central Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 to 2:00 PM Tuesday, prior to the service. The family request that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimers Association, Northeast Tennessee Chapter, 207 N. Boone Street, Suite 1500, Johnson City, TN 37601. The family would like to express our thanks to the staff and administration of Christian Care Center of Johnson City for providing such wonderful care during Evas time as a resident of their facility. Their personal attention to meeting the needs of Eva and members of our family gave us much needed peace of mind. We are indebted to the numerous members of the Caris Healthcare hospice team for their ceaseless efforts in extending every act of comfort and kindness to Eva and our family. Their support has been so appreciated and was a very welcome and necessary part of our lives. Your thoughtfulness will stay with us always.
