Everett Barnett, Jr.

Everett 'Junior'? Barnett, 78, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 1, 2008 at the Lifecare Center of Gray. A Mitchell County, NC native, he was a son of the late J.C. and Hannah (Miller) Barnett. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Barnett is survived by his wife Betty, of the home; a son, Keith Barnett and his wife Kelley; two daughters, Karen Hale and her husband Wayne, and Kathy Barnett and her husband, Cleave, all of Johnson City; five grandchildren Valda Garland, Vivian Townsend, Angela Searls, Lauren Barnett, and Ethan Barnett. Two great grandchildren, Kenneth and Landon Searls also survive. A funeral service for Everett Junior Barnett will be conducted at 8 PM Tuesday, September 2, 2008 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home North Chapel. Rev. Reece Harris and Rev. Delbert Storie will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 PM. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at 11 AM at Roselawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to gather at the funeral home no later than 10:15 AM to travel in procession to the cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
