Finis A. Hodges, 72, Gray, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at his home following a long illness. Mr. Hodges was a native of the Austin Springs community who lived most of his life in Washington County. He was a son of the late Elzia and Beatrice Feathers Hodges. He was a member of Gray United Methodist Church and a former member of Austin Springs United Methodist Church. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Hodges worked as a machinist for AFG Industries, Kingsport. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Marvene Barnes Hodges; brother, John Hodges; and step-granddaughter, Amy Sanders Dennis. Survivors include: son, Christopher Hodges, Kingsport; daughter, Keela Douglas, and her husband Dwight, of Gray; three brothers, Lewis Hodges, and his wife Barbara, of Johnson City, George Hodges, and his wife Betty, of Johnson City, and Jerry Hodges, and his wife Patty, of Jonesborough; sister, Hester Jenkins, and her husband Frank, of Johnson City; three grandchildren, Zachary and Allison Hodges, of Kingsport, and Michael Dylan Douglas, of Gray; two step-grandchildren, Erin Benjamin, of Kingsport, and Ashley Douglas Moore, of Limestone; and step great-grandson, Ethan Moore, of Limestone. The family of Finis Hodges will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, November 25, 2013 at Morris-Baker. The funeral service will follow at 8:00 PM in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Pastor Lenny Smith will officiate. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Family and friends are asked to meet at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens by 2:00 PM Tuesday for graveside services.
