Florence B. Phillips

Florence 'Tootsie'? Phillips, 69, of Johnson City passed away Sunday, September 19, 2010 after a long battle with cancer. Mrs. Phillips was the only child of the late Horace and Florence Blackburn of North Carolina. Mrs. Phillips was a 1958 graduate of Elizabethton High School, and also was the 1958 Rhodendren Queen. She was a member of the Pinecrest Baptist Church. Mrs. Phillips retired from Snap-On tools of Johnson City where she was employed for over 25 years. Mrs. Phillips is survived by two daughters, Terry Phillips of the home and Robyn Phillips McLoyd and husband Michael of Florida. She has one grandchild who was the absolute joy of her life, Jordan Ray Phillips McLoyd also of Florida. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 7:00 pm in the Pinecrest Baptist Church, 2129 Old Lewis Road off the Milligan Highway. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm. There will not be a graveside service. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate any monetary donations to help pay for medical and funeral bills.
