Florence Elizabeth Pope Pickle, 87, of 3530 W. Walnut Street, Johnson City, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2008 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of Washington County and a daughter of the late Thomas Andrew Pope and Sofronia Elizabeth Powell Pope. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John H. Pickle and by four brothers, Orville, Charles, Raymond and Joe Pope, and three sisters, Charlsie, Holley and Crete. Mrs. Pickle was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church and was retired from E. T. S. U. College of Medicine as the Director of the Laboratory. Survivors include; three children, Raymond Vincent 'Butch'? Pickle of Jonesborough, John Stephen Pickle of Denver, Colorado and Joanne Pickle Gregory of Johnson City; one sister, Norma Bailey of Johnson City; two granddaughters, Angie and Leslie; two grandsons, Christopher Ford and Jeremy Pickle; two special granddaughters, Karla Wood and SerenaPickle; seven great grandchildren; two special nieces, Dorothy Smith and Evelyn Hart; a special friend, Vernon Brown. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Wednesday from the Monte Vista Mausoleum Chapel. Father Gerard Finucane will be the celebrant. Entombment will follow the service. Honorary pallbearers will be Vernon Brown, Christopher Ford, Jeremy Pickle, Dave Wood and Danny Gordon. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday and a Rosary will be recited at 8:00 PM Tuesday.
