Florence Jones

Florence Jones, 81 of Piney Flats died Friday, April 4, 2008 in the Indian Path Medical Center in Kingsport. Mrs. Jones was a native and lifelong resident of Sullivan County and was a daughter of the late Charles and Alice Kidd Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of the Poplar Ridge Christian Church. Mrs. Jones is preceded in death by: her parents ; and her husband of fifty-nine years, Howard L. Jones who died in August 2007. Survivors include: one daughter, Lelia Jones of Piney Flats; three sons, Leslie Jones of North Richland Hill, TX, Keith Jones of Piney Flats and Brian Jones of Watauga, TN; one sister, Dorothy Robinette of Blountville, TN; six grandchildren ; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Florence Jones will be conducted at 8 PM, Monday April 7, 2008 in the Poplar Ridge Christian Church. Mr. Roland Whittemore and Mr. Gerry Rhodes, ministers will officiate. The committal service will be conducted at 11 AM Tuesday in the Poplar Ridge Christian Church Cemetery. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 10:55AM on Tuesday. Active pallbearers will be Grandsons and Elders of the church. The family will receive friends at the church from 6 to 8 PM Monday prior to the service.
