Frances L. Whitehead

Frances L. Whitehead, age 77, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Friday, February 7, 2025, after a lengthy illness.

Frances was born in Unicoi County, Tennessee on April 7, 1947, into the loving home of the late William and Pauline Medley.

She was a factory worker but mainly a homemaker. Her favorite hobbies included fishing, camping, watching her westerns and soap operas, and spending time with her two special furbabies, Chewy and Foxy.

Along with her parents, Frances is preceded in death by: her late husband, Verlin Patrick; two brothers, Robert (Joyce) Medley and Harley (Edith) Medley; one nephew, Allen Medley; and one niece, Melissa Font, all of Johnson City.

Those remaining to cherish her memory include: her husband, Steve Whitehead; two daughters, Sue (Kenneth) Vest and Lora (Bolivar) Patrick; one brother, David Medley; four grandchildren, Adan Correll, Breanna Potter, William Correll, and Summer Kennedy; a very special niece, Vicky (Tim) Guy; and a very special nephew, Larry Medley, along with several other nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of Johnson City.

A visitation for family and friends is scheduled for 11:00 am till 12:00 pm on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 in the Oak Hall at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service for Frances will begin at 12:00 pm following the visitation. Pastor Lenny Smith will officiate the service.

A private graveside service will be held for the immediate family only.
