Frank Bennett Line

March 8, 1944 — January 11, 2020

Frank “Bennett” Line, age 75, Johnson City, TN, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, January 11, 2020, at the Johnson City Medical Center with his wife and son at his bedside.
Bennett Line finally succumbed to complications of Factor 5 Leiden, a genetic mutation that had plagued him for twenty-five years, causing deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolisms in systemic Lupus.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7
Bennett was born in Morristown, TN, on March 8, 1944.  He was a graduate of Morristown High School, and he earned his B.S Degree from Carson Newman College.
He was employed by Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceutical Company as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative for 38 years until his retirement in 2009. He earned top awards placing him in the distinguished BIL Presidents Club five times!
His special interests included watching and talking University of Tennessee football and basketball with son Bennett, reading historical war books, writing interpretations of the Bible, and travelling, until health issues prevented it.
He was a member of First Christian Church, Johnson City, TN, where he was a member of the Bridge Builders SS Class.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Judge Milburn Line and Oneida Line, of Morristown and a sister, Mary Catherine (Taffy).
He is survived by: his wife Nancy H. Line, of the home; one son, Bennett R Line, Johnson City; two daughters, Garrett L. Fox, Cumming, GA, and Olivia Spain, Franklin, TN; one brother, Bettis Line, Winston-Salem, NC; and one sister, Fran Mullins, Cumming, GA. He also leaves behind his three granddaughters, Adreanna and Audrey Spain, both of Franklin, TN, and Camden Fox, of Cumming, GA, the light of his life - also known as GaaGaa to her!
The family of Bennett Line will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, January 16, 2020, in the Morris-Baker Dogwood Chapel. The memorial service will follow at 7:00 pm with Mr. Ethan Magness, Minister, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lupus Foundation.
