Mr. Frank Greer, age 82, of Johnson City, passed away Friday, April 26, 2013, in the Lakebridge Healthcare Center. Mr. Greer was a native of Bakersville, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Bob Greer and Juanita Street. In addition to his parents his first wife, Patricia Jean Greer; second wife, JoAnn Greer; one son, Frank Lee Greer; one brother, Jim Greer also preceded him in death. Mr. Greer was a career Air Force CMSGT proudly serving at SAC headquarters, retiring after twenty-one years of service. He then served as president of Holston and Coffman Oil Companies for twenty-five years. He was a member of Cherokee United Methodist Church and had been very active on many boards and church committees. He had a special love for his Fellowship Sunday School Class. He is survived by his wife of twenty-three years, Crystal Greer; three daughters, Gloria Helle, Sharon Barnett and her husband Sam and Debbie Patterson and her husband Patrick; two sons, Dale Greer and his wife Jackie and Randy Curde; one brother, William B. Greer; one sister, Judy Barnett; one daughter-in-law, Sandy Greer; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; special friend, Alan Edwards; and his much loved dog Cookie. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Cherokee United Methodist Church, 2615 S. Roan Street, Johnson City, TN 37601. The funeral service for Mr. Frank Greer will be conducted at 7 PM Monday, April 29, 2013, in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Andrew Amodei and Sam Barnett will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 10 AM Tuesday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Alan Edwards, Robert Helle, Jason Greer, Skyler Barnett, Nathaniel Patterson, Jordan Greer, Sterling Curde and Randy Curde. Honorary pallbearers will be the Fellowship Sunday School Class at Cherokee United Methodist Church. The Boone Dam Post # 4933 and the Tennessee National Guard will accord military honors. Ministers, family, and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 9:30 AM Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Monday prior to the service. .
