Fred Lane Hodges

Fred Hodges, 83, of 167 Price Road, Johnson City, passed away, Monday, February 11, 2008 in the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Avery County, NC, and a son of the late Charles and Rose Droughn Hodges. Mr. Hodges was also preceded in death by his wife, Roberta, on January 19, 2008 Mr. Hodges was a W.W. II and a Korean War veteran. He served in the U. S. Army. Mr. Hodges was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include; seven children, Ann McLaughlin and her husband, Kyle of Jonesborough, Kay Connell of Cummings, GA, Rita Davis and her husband Eddie of Louisburg, NC, Freddy Hodges and his wife Cathy of Canton, GA, Jerry Hodges and his wife, Judy of Johnson City, Sue Whitaker of Johnson City and Kenneth Hodges and his wife Ann, of Jonesborough; 20 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Wednesday from the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Ken Gaskin, Rev. George Crawford and Rev. Wesley Ward will officiate. Burial will follow in the Washington County Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday.
