Freddie W. Peters, 58, of 104 Clark Drive, Johnson City, died Monday, November 6, 2006 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Carter County but had lived most of his life in Johnson City, son of the late, Clyde R. and Mabel Clara Byers Peters. Freddie was a salesman for the Trading Post Classified and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Bobby Joe Peters and his father-in-law, Rev. J. B. Gregg, Sr. He was a member of the Elizabethton Golf Course. Survivors include: his wife, Brenda Gregg Peters of the home; a son, Tom Peters of Johnson City; a daughter, Angela Peters of Johnson City; a brother, Donnie (& Brenda) Peters of Gray; three sisters, Pauline (& Lynn) Holland of Johnson City, Jean (& Stacy) Rash and Virginia (& Lewis) Hulse all of Jonesborough; his mother-in-law, Iona Gregg; he especially loved his grandchildren, Hunter Johnson and Haley Messer, several nieces and nephews. A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, November 10, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. in the north chapel of the Morris - Baker Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until time of service at eight. A committal service will be conducted on Saturday, November 11, 2006 at the Tri-cities Memory Garden at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be: Don Moore, Travis Barr, Mike Bauguess, Steve Wilson, Ansley Bishop, Billy Joe Gregg. Honorary pallbearers will be: Willie Mathes, Jim Byers, Larry Crumley, his nephews, neighbors of Clark Drive and all the golfers of the Elizabethton Golf Course. He loved fishing, hunting, golf and anything having to do with the outdoors.
