Isaiah 40:31, They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Frederick Lee Johnson, Sr., age 89, of Johnson City, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2012, in the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Washington County, TN. He was the son of the late William and Daisy Crawford Johnson. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Berdie Johnson. He served in World War II and retired after 33 years of service as a Major in the United States Army. He served as a deputy with the Washington County Sheriffs Department and also with his father in their family own freight company. He was a member of Grandview Christian Church. Survivors include: one son, Fred Johnson, Jr. and his wife Nancy, of Johnson City; three daughters, Janet Barnes and her husband Rod, of Greeneville, TN, Lois Deakins and her husband Lynn, of Johnson City, and 'special daughter'? Teresa Johnson, of the home; four grandchildren, Sara Andies, Nicole Johnson, and Haven Duffy, and Robin Morelock; and three great grandchildren. The family will be receiving friends on Sunday, April 1st from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm with the funeral service to follow in the Morris-Baker South Chapel with Rev. Randy Helms officiating. A private graveside service will be conducted in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Members of the Tennessee Army National Guard will serve as pallbearers. Special friend, Tom Stilter will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
