Garnetta Booth, 64, of Johnson City, died Friday, November 1, 2013 at her residence. She was a native of Carter County, daughter of the late Polly Hyder McKinney. Garnetta was a retired employee of the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. She was of the Baptist faith and loved to be around children. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Darling and Dolores Crowe; a brother, Alton McKinney. Survivors include: her husband of 43 years, James 'Jim'? D. Booth, Sr. of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, James D. Booth, Jr. and Crystal of Johnson City; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Bernadine and Lawrence Bowman of Clarksville, Ramona Crowe of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews; her dog Abby. A graveside service is scheduled for Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the Washington County Memory Gardens, under the direction of Rev. Mike Anglin. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm then leave in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
