Gary D. Chatham, 69, of Johnson City, died Friday March 29, 2013 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Chatham was a Tyler, TX native who had lived in Oklahoma prior to relocating to Johnson City. He was a son of the late Ray Harold Newberry and Iona Elorna Walker. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Chatham was a retired meat cutter with Kroger supermarkets. In addition to his parents Mr. Chatham was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles Franklin Chatham, Phillip Wayne Chatham, Billy Ray Newberry, and Traci Lynn Newberry and two sisters, Frances Elizabeth Chatham and Mona Janeet Lemmons. Survivors include: his son, David Lance Chatham, Johnson City; sister, Helen Kay Minson, Johnson City; and special friends, the Davis family, Randy Hicks and family, Leslie McCullough, Paul Burks and family, David Kraft and family, Ryans family, June Dills, Barbara Tapp and family, Doug Johnson and family, Emily Boyles and family, Jean and Randy Sutphin, Irene Persinger, Eldridge family, Pastor Richard Tittle and family, Belinda Wade and family, Harrell Sanders, and Bill Ferguson. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the physicians and staff of the Johnson City Medical Center ICU. The family of Gary Chatham will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 2, 2013 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 8:00 PM with Pastor Richard Tittle officiating.
